How To Style: Biscuit Boutique

To celebrate the return of Biscuit Boutique jewellery to our stock list, we thought we'd offer some advice on how to style their pieces.

We couldn't decide on just one item to feature (they all look so beautifully tasty!) so instead we've picked two.

First up is the classic Jammy Dodger necklace. Yours for just £12 – this necklace is guaranteed to inspire comments and compliments wherever you go.

Here we've paired the Jammy Dodger with strong primary colours – making sure to add a few red accessories to emphasise the rich jam colour from the centre of the biscuit. A necklace like this certainly makes a statement, and we've made sure that the rest of the outfit is loud enough to match it.

You'll notice that this is a fairly formal outfit – that's because we don't think that Biscuit Boutique jewellery is just for day time. Their quirky pieces add a little bit of fun to any outfit, and we think they look just as great with heels as they do with jeans!

The second item we've chosen is this oh-so-cute iced gem charm bracelet. Priced at £15, this is the perfect gift for the girls in your life (don't worry, we won't tell if you just buy it for yourself!).

We've paired the iced gem charm bracelet with a more delicate colour palette so that it doesn't get overshadowed. We picked out the pastel pink and green shades from the icing and made sure that they made up the bulk of the outfit.

The iced gem charm bracelet feels very summery – and we think it looks supercute with cut off jeans, sandles and sunglasses. Just make sure you don't lose it on the beach!

Sparklecandy Bride;

Here at Sparklecandy we've put together a bridal collection perfect for brides-to-be who are looking for something a little bit different. Whether you're going for a vintage kitsch or a rock queen look for your big day – our collection will help you wow your guests from the second you step foot on the aisle.

A big part of our bridal range is made up of the Tarina Tarantino Hello Kitty Pink Head collection. Each piece in this collection incorporates pearls, swarvorski crystals and a pink Hello Kitty cameo to create a stunning look for brides with a difference.

One of the stand out pieces is this triple-row pearl choker;

This piece is perfect for those who want a glamourous but cute accessory to add to their bridal look. It costs £210.

The Sparklecandy Bride range also features a few more delicate pieces for those who just want something a little sparkly. For all the shoe-loving brides out there, these Butler&Wilson earrings are a must (plus they're a great way to prepare to groom for the size of your shoe collection!)

These shoe earrings are encrusted with swarvorski crystals and cost £31.

For a more delicate look, Sparklecandy Brides may also appreciate some of our Disney Couture pieces. We think the “dreams come true” necklace is a particularly appropriate piece for a wedding! It is silver plated and costs £32.

We love seeing brides go for something a little out of the ordinary on their big day. If you're looking for a few more ideas for an alternative big day, here are a few great blogs/sites filled with fabulous pictures and ideas:

Designer Profile: Tatty Devine

Tatty Devine was created by two jewellery designers Rosie Wolfenden and Harriet Vine back in 1999. The company is based in the East End of London, and all Tatty Devine pieces are handmade from acrylic right here in the UK.

We sell three different Tatty Devine collections on Sparklecandy; the classic collection, the Pierrot collection and the Pearly Kings and Queens collection (which is currently 75% off). Each collection boasts classic Tatty Devine style – albeit with a bit of a twist.

First up we'd like to showcase a couple of pieces from the classic collection.

We love this artist's moustache necklace. It's wonderfully quirky and we think it goes with just about anything. It comes on a signature 18 inch Tatty Devine chain and costs £23.

If this piece is a little too masculine for you, you might prefer another classic Tatty Devine piece; like this 1950s glasses necklace.

This piece simply screams “sexy 1950s librarian” - and is a big favourite amongst our customers. It comes complete with clear acrylic lenses, which is a great touch. Once again, it comes with an 18 inch signature chain and costs £22.

Continuing on a vintage theme, the Tatty Devine Pierrot Collection has been rising in popularity recently. It features lovely cut out heart and tear shapes – as well as the Pierrot himself! The key piece from this collection are these stunning pierrot earrings;

Designed specially to make your fashionista friends really really jealous – these earrings are made from pink and white acrylic with stirling silver posts. They cost £30 and measure approximately 2.5cm by 1.5cm.

Last of our Tatty Devine collections is the Pearly Kings and Queens set. At the moment we're offering a whopping 75% off these pieces – so it's worth checking them out!

The piece that makes the biggest statement from this collection is this pearly heart brooch. Measuring at a wonderfully large 8.5cm, this piece would look just as great on a smart jacket as it would on a simple black dress.

Alongside this gorgeous piece (which is down to just £17.25 in the sale!) the Pearly Kings and Queens collection boasts navy themed anchor earrings (£9) and lots more pearly buttons!

Fantastic Plastic!

Here at Sparklecandy we like our jewellery bright, colourful and eye catching. That's why we sell a lot of acrylic jewellery. Acrylic jewellery is really easy to wear and style – so it's a great way to add a little effortless quirkiness to any outfit!

Particularly big on acrylic jewellery is our classic Tatty Devine collection. Here you'll find acrylic moustaches, glasses, tigers and even circus performers.

This Tatty Devine white tiger necklace costs £88 and comes on a thick 18 inch Tatty Devine chain. Particularly stunning, this is a limited edition piece – so get your hands on it while you can!

Ever popular from the Tatty Devine range are their signature plectrum jewellery. This simple three colour plectrum necklace will set you back just £18 and is a great example of how acrylic jewellery can add a fabulous splash of colour.

As if you needed more proof that plastic in, in fact, fantastic – have a look at our bestselling Supercute Hello Kitty Charm bracelet. Adorned in all the colours of the rainbow and handmade from lucite – you can get your hands on it for £25.

You may also like this N2 Flamingo pendant. As fabulous in colour as it is in design, this acrylic piece will brighten up your day in no time. The N2 Flamingo pendent costs £28.

Last but definitely not least – we'd like to showcase a new piece from the Tarina Tarantino 'Acid Alice' range.

These Filigree Cameo Earrings cost £88. Like all Tarina Tarantino products, these earrings are handmade in the USA from lucite – a very high quality acrylic. All Tarina Tarantino jewellery is made in Tarina's very own 'Sparkle Factory.' Cute!

As you can see, we have some fantastic acrylic pieces in the Sparklecandy collection. The pieces we have showcased are all handmade in the UK or USA out of high quality acrylic materials.

How To Style: Butler & Wilson Diamante Skull Earrings

One of our favourite products on the Sparklecandy website are these Butler & Wilson Dimante Skull earrings. We like them so much that they even feature prominently in our Sparklecandy Bride collection (come on, wouldn't these look unbelievably cool with a vintage bridal gown?!). They cost £37 and, like all our products, come wrapped beautifully in Sparklecandy packaging.

Wedding-gown aside, we'd like to suggest three different ways that you could style these oh-so-fabulous earrings.

Style No.1 - Vamp

Fashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

These earrings look great with a vamped-up all black ensemble. Keep it simple with swept up hair and let them speak for themselves!

Style No.2 - Casual

Butler&Wilson Skull Earrings Style 2
Fashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

When it comes to casual, you can't go wrong with skinny jeans and a plain top. You also can't go wrong with a bit of sparkle – which means that the skull earrings are a perfect addition. Throw them on with a matching skull scarf and some studded booties to add a read edge to the outfit.

Style No.3 – Girly

Butler&Wilson Skull Earrings Style 3
Fashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

Here at Sparklecandy we like to mix it up a bit, and we just couldn't resist including this final idea. If you like your clothes pink and whimsical – then this suggestion is for you. The earrings are just shiny enough to compliment an outfit such as this one, but their shape makes the outift look more rock princess than damsel in distress. Girly pink perfection!

Have you bought these earrings already? We'd love to know how you've styled them! Drop us a line in the comment section.

Designer Profile: Disney Couture

We've been stocking the Disney Couture collection on Sparklecandy.co.uk since we founded the website. Created in LA, this collection combines wishful Disney thinking and timeless design to create a range of jewellery so gorgeous it would make even Tinkerbell cry tears of joy.

The range already has a large following stateside, and is starting to make big ripples in the UK market. Trend-setters please note – now is the time to jump on the Disney Couture bandwagon! With muses such as Jasmine, Ariel and Alice in Wonderland – we think you'll find their pieces pretty hard to resist.

This collection often comes to mind when we're asked to recommend a gift for a sixteenth, eighteenth or twenty-first birthday present, as there is something magical about all their pieces. Particularly special is the “Believing is just the beginning” locket, which costs just £39. Unsurprisingly – this is one of the bestsellers in the Disney Couture range. Fill it with a tiny love letter, a lock of your true love's hair or even a picture of your favourite Disney princess!

Another big seller is this gold bangle engraved with the line “a dream is a wish your heart makes.” It's decorated with pink crystal and enamel charms and at £35 it's perfect for little princesses and big princesses alike.

If you're looking for something a little more modern – then you might be quite taken by the Alice in Wonderland inspired pieces in the Disney Couture collection. The Alice pieces have a wonderfully quirky Tim Burton feel to them so you can rest assured that you won't be caught wearing the same earrings as your best mate.

For a piece of arm candy that Alice would be especially proud off, have a look at this charm bracelet. Adorned with mini playing cards, pawns, animals and keys (among others) there's something to delight even the most sensible of souls. Pick up this bracelet for £105.

If you're a fan of Johnny Depp (who isn't?) you might fancy investing in this mad-hatter inspired necklace and pendant. Not only is it in the sale at £14.50 (down from £29) – it's also the best way that we can think of to keep Mr Depp himself close to our hearts!

Tempted yet? You can view our full Disney Couture collection here. You may also be interested to know that we have a number of Alice-inspired items currently on sale (including the Mad Hatter necklace shown above). Take a look at the sale collection here.

How to Care for Your Sparklecandy Jewellery

We want to make sure that each and every one of our customers has a long and fruitful relationship with their Sparklecandy jewellery – which means that it's really important to bear a few of these points in mind.

First things first, how you store your jewellery is super important. All Sparklecandy products come wrapped in custom made packaging. This packaging is specially designed to keep your jewellery safe and sound – as well as to look pretty enough to be kept on your dressing table! In order to keep your jewellery at it's best, keep it wrapped up safe in the original box or pouch.

We also recommend that you don't get your jewellery wet. That means removing it before showering, bathing, swimming or even just doing the washing up! We suggest that you do this as moisture can dull jewellery and loosen stones and attachments. If you do need to wash your jewellery, please do so with a damp cloth – DON'T completely submerge it in water or even a cleaning solution.

Don't let your jewellery be exposed to sunlight or extreme heat for large periods of time. Sunlight, especially, can cause many pieces to fade. This is especially true of acrylic jewellery, so store those Tatty Devine pieces away from the window if you want them to keep their original vibrancy!

Be careful about spraying perfume or hairspray when wearing jewellery. The best way to make sure your jewellery isn't damaged by this is to put it on AFTER you've spritzed yourself. This protects it from the alcohols in the products, and means that it won't tarnish or crack your jewellery.

Finally, be sensible with your jewellery. We suggest that you steer clear of wearing it at events where it may get knocked or crushed – as many of our pieces are fragile and need a bit of tender care.

Follow these simple tips and you can be sure that your Sparklecandy jewellery will be adorning your outfits for years to come! See our full range of jewellery at www.sparklecandy.co.uk.

Designer Profile: Disaya

Over the coming weeks we're going to be posting profiles on many of the designers who's ranges we stock on the Sparklecandy website. The first of these designers is Disaya, for a very exciting reason; for this month only we're offering free shipping on all Disaya jewellery.

Before you rub your hands together in glee and rush off to Sparklecandy.co.uk to place your order, let us show you some of the pieces available.

We think that Disaya is one of the most exciting luxury jewellery brands on the market at the moment. It was created by Disaya Prokobsantisukh who is a graduate of Central Saint Martins. It combines urban influences and a punk vibe to create classic costume jewellery with an irresistable rock'n'roll edge, If you're in the market for statement bangles or a cocktail ring that's a little out of the ordinary – this might just be the brand for you!

Talking of statement bangles, one of our favourite pieces has to be this one. Decorated with a garish mix of acid green and bubblegum pink - the Monster Cuff Bangle is more than eye catching. Priced at £145, this piece comes beautifully boxed in a custom made Disaya box. (As do all Disaya pieces).

If you're after something with a bit more of the rock'n'roll edge that we mentioned, perhaps this spiked teddy bear pendant will be more your style. Complete with moveable arms and legs(!), the Disaya bear has become something of an icon. Returning season after season, a bear like the one below is guaranteed not to go out of style anytime soon. Priced at £190, we also stock pink and white versions.

Finally, what feisty Sparklecandy fan could resist the Jaws ring? Created with a combination of gleaming black crystal and gold coloured jaws – this ring is a must for any girl looking for a bit of a power boost!

The Jaws ring costs £105.

As we mentioned at the beginning of this post – all Disaya items come with free shipping during June. Get in quick to take advantage of this offer and enter code DISAYAJ6.

Eurovision Inspired Jewellery Style!

If you're like us, over the weekend you may have found yourself on the sofa in front of the car-crash television that is Eurovision. If you did, you weren't alone – 120 million people across Europe tuned in to catch a glimpse of the outlandish outfits, the questionable dance routines and the scary make-up.

Talking of outlandish outfits, we couldn't help noticing that there were a couple of performers who might have found themselves very at home on the Sparklecandy website. Take Germany's Lena, for example, who won the competition with the song “Satellite”. She has a great rock-chick look that we'd love to emulate, and we've already got some pieces in mind!

We bet Lena would love some of the more edgy items from the Sparklecandy range. In particular, she might like these Disaya safety-pin earrings which come in silver or gold (£80). We reckon she'd also find this Butler & Wilson dimante skull necklace (£26) pretty hard to resist – it would go perfectly with her long dark hair and gothic-inspired tattoo.

For those of you who like your jewellery a bit more girly – you were probably more impressed by Belarus' glitter-studded entry. Incase you didn't see it - halfway through the ballad “Butterflies” the three female backing singers' dresses transformed into stunning butterfly outfits.

We think that these butterfly beauties might be tempted by just about anything in our Disney Couture and Girl Prop collections. We can't help thinking, though, that there would be something wonderful about them pinning one of these pins to their butterfly wings....

The Ladybug and Bee pins are both from our Girl Props collection and cost £10 each.

So what do you think about Eurovision? Do you love it? Hate it? Let us know! Also, don't forget to give us a shout if you noticed any other performers who might have appreciated a bit of Sparklecandy!
