Cool Collage

Just had to share some of my favourite finds from the Glasgow Art Fair on Friday night. I have a slight obsession with collage work at the moment and was not disappointed when I discovered two artists who are making some really magical work using this medium.

The first was Lisa Ashcroft I completely fell in love with her pop, psychedelic canvases. As you know I can never resist loud colours and sparkles. I had my beady eye on the canvas shown above: Tattooed Temptress.

With a subtler approach was Maria Rivans whose delightful little 3D boxes opened a little window to a surreal world of wonder.

These have definitely been added to my must buy list!

Going Going Gone...

Last bits from Tatty Devine's Button Up Collection now half price at Sparklecandy grab a piece of Pearl Queen magic while there still some left. This Pearly Anchor brooch looks fab with a tailored black dress.

Glasgow Girls Award Success!

I was delighted to receive an award for best website for Sparklecandy the other evening at the BT Young Entrepreneur Awards. It was a triple success for Glasgow Girls with two other female owned companies scooping a prize. The other winners were Gillian Parker who runs Sew Vintage a fabulous vintage clothing store and Mrs Magoo, which is an environmentally responsible cleaning company based in Glasgow's west end ran by Lucy McGonigle.

Show Time

I was so excited to get a second delivery on Friday with some new Les Nereides goodies. Sparklecandy will have a handpicked selection from Les Belles Et Les Betes, Ouvre Moi Ton Coeur and Paris Carte Postale. All collections include miniature people, animals and scenery...and are there are some really collectible pieces to be found. So many to love but my favourites for now are these circus earrings. Its also great to know that all Les Nereides jewellery is made in France by hand. So rare in these Primark times we live in!
