Gift Ideas for Girly Girls

Here at Sparklecandy, we like to ensure that you'll find a huge variety of different styles of jewellery on our website. On the blog today, though, we'd like to focus on gifts for 'girly girls'. We've put together a list of pieces of jewellery that make great gifts for big girls and little girls alike. (Because, hey, can you really go wrong with pink and sparkly?!)

First up, we'd like to highlight the work of one of newest designers Marion Barclay. Particularly popular with the girly girls among us is this gorgeous rose pendant.

Created from hand-dyed aluminium, all Marion Barclay pieces are handmade in the UK. Perfect for a unique gift to be treasured for a long time to come, this rose pendant costs £60. Other Marion Barclay pieces start from £25.

Lovers of all things pink will be particularly interested in one of our newest pieces; this Supercute Rosa charm bracelet.

Featuring pink acrylic charms and crystals with a metal bracelet – this bracelet will be loved by all. The Rosa charm bracelet costs £25.

This Anna Lou of London Lipstick Pendant has a wonderfully 1950s feel to it. Perfect for girly retro queens, it's actually in the sale at £8 (down from £20).

The lipstick pendant comes on a sixteen inch silver ball chain.

And finally, no collection of girly jewellery would be complete without a healthy sprinkling of Disney Couture products. We couldn't decide which of these Disney Couture necklaces would be most suitable – so we're including both! Feeling Fruity!

You've probably noticed by now that we like to keep things bright and colourful (and sparkly!) around here. We're particularly fond of jewellery that catches the eye, too, so we're always on the hunt for wonderfully quirky new shapes. Something that fulfils all of these requirements is fruit themed jewellery, and we definitely have quite a lot of this in our online boutique!

So, are you feeling fruity?! We're about to do a rundown of our top three pieces of fruit-themed jewellery!

Three;

First up is this delightfully sparkly cherry pendant. From the Girl Props collection, this pendant looks almost good enough to eat. And as if that wasn't enough? It's yours for just £9! We'd love to wear this with all black to give a cheeky spin to an otherwise elegant outfit.

Two;

Why not make like Eve and adorn yourself with this fabulous apple pendant? Complete with shiny dimantes and a 16 inch chain – this necklace has everything going for it. This apple pendant is from the Supercute necklaces collection and costs £6. It also comes in red.

One;

How could we resist awarding this fabulous banana necklace the number one spot?! So kitsch it almost hurts, we think this necklace would look great with just about anything. Each of the thirteen bananas measure more than 4cm long, making this necklace a real statement piece. And the best part? It's down to £5 in the sale. We must be bananas, haha! (Sorry, we couldn't resist the pun!) Bad jokes aside, get your order in quick before we run out!

Les Nereides Lockets

Here at Sparklecandy we're always on the look out for gifts with a difference. We know how important it is to find the perfect gift for the important people in your life – and we do our very best to provide these gifts for you. The next locket, featuring a kissing couple, is a great step on from the little girl with the flowers.

Finally, what collection would be complete without a gift for expectant and new mums? The last Les Nereides Locket has a tiny stork inside holding an even tinier baby.

This is obviously the perfect gift for new mums and expectant mums alike – and definitely makes a great alternative to babygros!

End of Season Sale!

If you follow us on Twitter or on Facebook – you'll know already that the Sparklecandy end of season sale is well underway. You'll find huge reductions on a whole range of jewellery collections – so take advantage now before it's too late!

We featured this piece on the blog last month in out Disaya Designer Profile as we think it's wonderfully retro. As if the colours weren't eye-catching enough – we love the interesting shape of the bangle.

How To Style: Biscuit Boutique

To celebrate the return of Biscuit Boutique jewellery to our stock list, we thought we'd offer some advice on how to style their pieces.

We couldn't decide on just one item to feature (they all look so beautifully tasty!) so instead we've picked two.

First up is the classic Jammy Dodger necklace. Yours for just £12 – this necklace is guaranteed to inspire comments and compliments wherever you go.

Here we've paired the Jammy Dodger with strong primary colours – making sure to add a few red accessories to emphasise the rich jam colour from the centre of the biscuit. A necklace like this certainly makes a statement, and we've made sure that the rest of the outfit is loud enough to match it.

You'll notice that this is a fairly formal outfit – that's because we don't think that Biscuit Boutique jewellery is just for day time. Their quirky pieces add a little bit of fun to any outfit, and we think they look just as great with heels as they do with jeans!

We've paired the iced gem charm bracelet with a more delicate colour palette so that it doesn't get overshadowed. We picked out the pastel pink and green shades from the icing and made sure that they made up the bulk of the outfit.

Sparklecandy Bride;

Here at Sparklecandy we've put together a bridal collection perfect for brides-to-be who are looking for something a little bit different. Whether you're going for a vintage kitsch or a rock queen look for your big day – our collection will help you wow your guests from the second you step foot on the aisle.

A big part of our bridal range is made up of the Tarina Tarantino Hello Kitty Pink Head collection. Each piece in this collection incorporates pearls, swarvorski crystals and a pink Hello Kitty cameo to create a stunning look for brides with a difference.

Designer Profile: Tatty Devine

Tatty Devine was created by two jewellery designers Rosie Wolfenden and Harriet Vine back in 1999. The company is based in the East End of London, and all Tatty Devine pieces are handmade from acrylic right here in the UK.

We sell three different Tatty Devine collections on Sparklecandy; the classic collection, the Pierrot collection and the Pearly Kings and Queens collection (which is currently 75% off). Each collection boasts classic Tatty Devine style – albeit with a bit of a twist.

First up we'd like to showcase a couple of pieces from the classic collection. 

We love this artist's moustache necklace. It's wonderfully quirky and we think it goes with just about anything. It comes on a signature 18 inch Tatty Devine chain and costs £23.

If this piece is a little too masculine for you, you might prefer another classic Tatty Devine piece; like this 1950s glasses necklace.

This piece simply screams “sexy 1950s librarian” - and is a big favourite amongst our customers. It comes complete with clear acrylic lenses, which is a great touch. Once again, it comes with an 18 inch signature chain and costs £22.

Continuing on a vintage theme, the Tatty Devine Pierrot Collection has been rising in popularity recently. It features lovely cut out heart and tear shapes – as well as the Pierrot himself! The key piece from this collection are these stunning pierrot earrings;

The piece that makes the biggest statement from this collection is this pearly heart brooch. Measuring at a wonderfully large 8.5cm, this piece would look just as great on a smart jacket as it would on a simple black dress.
